Vege Garden Update. 20/02/20

It's late February & the garden is starting to look very tired. The recent hail & heavy rains that we had have really taken a toll on the plants. They are all trying to solider on despite looking so battered. The Zucchinis are still producing but we have not picked anything for a few weeks, its great to see them in flower again, same goes for the cucumbers. The tomato plants are still hanging on but most of the fruit & buds were knocked off in the storms. I am lucky enough to be able to pick enough to feed us. The mixed lettuce have now gone to seed so today I have put more seed into an empty garden bed along with some gifted spring onion seeds. The few strawberries I have in were attacked by bugs so i covered them with one of the umbrella style food covers which has worked a treat.

The bonus of having so much summer rain is that both of the water tanks are full and I have not had to use the hose at all this season. I did pick a rather large Cucumber today, a few cherry tomatoes & a couple of spring onions to use in tonight's fried rice.

Please enjoy some of the photos of the garden today.
